I guess I always find "about me"s difficult to write because I either sound like I belong on myspace or someone who tries too hard to be profound. I'll start with the basics: My name's Ramelcy, and I'm from a little place you might have heard of known as New York City. I consider myself a Feminist and have an opinion on just about anything and everything. My tumblr is my own and no one else's so I'll post whatever quotes, rants, pictures, and random bullshit that I want. I guess it provides a bit of insight to who I am or at least I think I am? Well I just spent the last 4 hours “meeting and greeting” artists that will be performing at Momma’s Hip Hop Kitchen’s event on March 3rd.
Let me just say this: THESE WOMEN ARE FUCKING PHENOMENAL.
They’re all so dedicated to advancing and empowering women of all ages. It was such a diverse, talented group. These are women who are so devoted to creating positive role models and images in Hip Hop for urban youth and women.
Today and this whole year has been a great learning and growing experience for me. I am so blessed to be a part of an organization dedicated to really educating and empowering those who are often forgotten.
