I guess I always find "about me"s difficult to write because I either sound like I belong on myspace or someone who tries too hard to be profound. I'll start with the basics: My name's Ramelcy, and I'm from a little place you might have heard of known as New York City. I consider myself a Feminist and have an opinion on just about anything and everything. My tumblr is my own and no one else's so I'll post whatever quotes, rants, pictures, and random bullshit that I want. I guess it provides a bit of insight to who I am or at least I think I am? Don't hesitate to say hello. Follow and enjoy or not ?
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Attended this today.
Might I say, it was absolutely amazing and empowering. There was a diverse cast, each telling of their challenges as Black Women, but also historic challenges and victories. I learned so much about African women’s effective efforts to resist enslavement, their role in the Blues, their struggle with their portrayal in the media, their relationship with hip hop, their sexualities, their violation, their overcoming of such struggles, and so many other things.
I really had to take a step back and realize what an enlightening experience it was. There were monologues, dances, and some singing.
These women were giving themselves 100% to their art, and it was just outstanding to learn about such things, but at the same, be told to not be held by such shackles, love myself unconditionally, and to bring any type of joy to another, I must first bring it to myself.
Absolutely breathtaking.
Because I want some Chocolate lovin’ in my life.
I heard it’s funny…

Just got home from watching The Vow. Can’t front, it was a very cute movie, I’m just so cynical when it comes to these romantic-perfect-couple-love-conquers-all type movies aka anything Nicholas Sparks created. lol
It was nice to be out though, now for my after midnight treat :D
Okay so for many people and their high schools, Prom is so no big deal. I totally get it, it’s basically an expensive as party with a bunch of peers you might hate, BUT being that I go to an all-girls school, we rarely get to partake in typical high school traditions lol so Prom is a big deal to us.
Even though there’s a lot to worry about like limos, shoes, accessories, dresses, dates, money, after-prom stuff, six flags, and all that extra shit, I think it’ll all be worth it.
I know our Prom Committee and every girl who goes to Prom will try their hardest to make that the best fucking night of our Senior Yr.
I’m so relieved my dress and shoes, and my share of the limo cost are taken care off, but there’s still so much to be planned…
I’m just so excited about it! And it doesn’t hurt that I have the perfect prom date!

BUT am I supposed to just ignore someone who messed up before and is now making an obvious attempt to be a part of my life again?
Especially if that person learned their lesson and grew up…
Decisiones.
Decisiones.
My mom’s going on her Valentine’s Day date tonight.
The specifics are a part of the surprise, but he’s taking her to see one of her favorite artists. That’s pretty cute.
Good for her. Me on the other hand, another year without a Valentine. 17 years and counting, I ain’t even mad in all honesty, lmao. SWAGU ~
People are way too into celebrities and their lives…
Bleh. I hate feeling like this.
Chill afternoon today.
Whipped out my beanie, ni99a!
The big unveiling of the “Most Treasured” Bulletin Board to show all the members of our administration they are appreciated. (they also enjoyed a casual friday :} )
Even though we have a crazy bunch working at my school, I do appreciate all they have done for SJB.
